#37: Give the Benefit of the Doubt.

That rude waitress
That annoying driver
That aloof colleague
That demeaning boss

Oh, how we hate them!

But we wouldn’t know…
She could have just broken up with her boyfriend.
He could be rushing his pregnant wife to the hospital.
She could be worried about her mother’s cancer.
He could have had a bad argument with his daughter.

We never know.

But if we were in their shoes, we’d hope for our actions to be excused, we’d wish for people to know that these are just temporary states, not enduring traits. This is not really us. We’d want to be given the benefit of the doubt too.

Have more faith in humanity.
